More Fun with Wedding Presents
Some very close friends threw me a bridal shower a few weekends ago. It was beautiful and so much fun. And I got some super great gifts. It’s nice to have gifts, but I also really do think of the person who gave me the gift when I use it (so far), and that’s a very nice thing.
Shown below is my window-sill herb garden (box to come), which I know looks two-thirds pathetic, but I am nursing the parsley and sage back to health. The basil is doing quite well.
Anyhoo, I’ve been using herbs in everything since I got it, and it’s just such a nice thing to be able to have them on hand. Urbanites with window-sills: I highly recommend a window-sill herb garden. Please see pictures of my lamb chops with fresh herbs, and the corn meal I “laced” with fresh herbs before dredging the chicken in it.
I also received a corn stripper, which is a little tool that scrapes the corn off the cob and stores it in a little container attached to the blade. When I use a knife, the corn flies everywhere, so this is a huge improvement. See the many pictures of it below.
Tonight was my first use and it was a success.
